Standards, fixtures and equipment in one working system

A standard tells you what to measure. It does not tell you which grip stops the specimen slipping, or which load cell resolves the force. These references connect the method to the hardware that actually runs it.

Most materials can be tested to either an ASTM or an ISO method. They are rarely interchangeable in a customer's specification, and results run to one are not directly comparable with the other. Confirm which is named before fixtures are ordered.

Matching a method to a machine?

Send the material, specimen geometry, expected force range and the standard your customer cites. FITCO will recommend the frame, load cell, grips and extensometry, run your samples before you commit, and support installation, operator training and NABL-traceable calibration.
