The most demanding applications — thin films, fibres, medical devices, adhesives, sutures, and pharmaceutical packaging — require sub-newton sensitivity that most load cells cannot reliably deliver. Testometric's small capacity series extends from 5 N (LC0.5) to 1,000 N (LC100), with resolutions as fine as 0.00001 N and minimum accurate readings as low as 0.004 N.

The LC1 (10 N full scale) is the most popular choice for rubber dumbbell micro-specimens, narrow textiles, medical tubing, and suture testing — achieving a minimum reading of 0.04 N at full Class 0.5 accuracy. Pin diameter is 3 mm (LC0.5, LC1) increasing to 8 mm for higher loads, ensuring clean specimen alignment regardless of grip type.

This series covers the most frequently tested materials in quality control and R&D environments — rubber, plastics, textiles, geosynthetics, packaging films, composites, and structural adhesives — where forces exceed 1 kN but don't require large-frame capacity.

The LC1000 (10 kN) is the single most widely installed Testometric load cell globally, covering tensile testing of standard rubber dumbbell specimens, HDPE pipes, woven fabrics, fibre rope, and metal coupons. Spigot diameter is 20 mm across the full series (except LC5000 which uses 30 mm), maintaining consistent fixture compatibility.

This series pairs with Testometric's floor-standing UTM range, enabling compliance with ISO 6892, ASTM A370, ASTM E8, NADCAP, and NABL requirements at forces up to 1,000 kN (1 MN).

The LC10000 (100 kN) is the standard workhorse for structural steel, aluminium alloys, composite laminates, bolts and fasteners, and reinforced concrete specimens. The LC100000 (1,000 kN) is used for bridge cables, structural beams, and safety-critical aerospace components. All models achieve the same ±0.1% accuracy and 800% overload protection regardless of capacity.
